Alison Van Uytvanck secured her fifth title on the women's tour with the final success at the WTA Tour 250 tournament in Nur-Sultan.

There was nothing with a tournament victory of the top favorite and local hero Yulia Putintseva: The 26-year-old had to admit defeat in the final of the WTA hard court event in Nur-Sultan to Alison Van Uytvanck, who was seeded two after a hard-fought time of 2:20 hours. After clearly losing the first set, the Belgian finally prevailed with 1: 6, 6: 4, 6: 3.

While the Kazakh still has to wait for her third tournament success, Van Uytvanck was able to increase her number of titles to five. The Flämin managed three of their four titles to date on hard courts (twice in Budapest and Tashkent), and the 27-year-old achieved one success on carpet in Quebec in 2017. Together with her partner Greet Minnen, Van Uytvanck won the double competition in Luxembourg two weeks ago.
