Ons Jabeur is easily in the quarterfinals of her home tournament in Monastir: The Tunisian beat the Russian qualifier Egenyia Rodina in the round of 16 after just 55 minutes 6:1, 6:3. Now there is a duel with the American Claire Liu.
In Ostrava the day of the tournament started with one of the sixth placed Belinda Bencic. The Swiss paved the way for the 2021 French Open winner, Barbora Krejcikova, to reach the quarterfinals, where surprisingly she did not face Maria Sakkari. The fourth seeded Greek had to admit defeat in the first match of the day against outsider and qualifier Alycia Parks 7:5, 5:7, 5:7.
In the evening, too, the audience at the WTA Tour 500 event had to make do with less: Anett Kontaveit had to go to the net prematurely against Tereza Martincova with a score of 6: 7 (3), 0: 1.
