Things are still not going well for Jule Niemeier. The Dortmund woman had recently failed early in qualifying for the US Open, and now she was eliminated in the first round of the WTA Tour 250 tournament in Osaka. Niemeier lost to the Russian Anna Kalinskaya 4:6 and 4:6.
Tatjana Maria, who started the race in second place in Osaka, has also already been eliminated. Maria lost to Hungarian Panna Udvardy 6:2, 4:6 and 6:7 (5).
