Iga Swiatek is through to the Ostrava final after beating Russia's Ekaterina Alexandrova

The spectators of the WTA Tour 500 tournament in Ostrava can look forward to an attractive match-up in tomorrow's final: Iga Swiatek, number one of the event and the WTA ranking list, was able to win in the semifinals of the indoor hard court event in East Moravia after a tough struggle and 2:38 hours of play against the Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova 7: 6 (5), 2: 6, 6: 4. The Pole is now in her seventh final of the season, of which she has won all of them so far.

Jabeur fails at home tournament in the quarterfinals

Previously, Barbora Krejcikova had made the hearts of the home crowd beat faster and was able to win her eighth match in a row. The 2021 French Open winner defeated Kazakh Elena Rybakina 3: 6, 7: 6 (4), 6: 4 in a 2:26 hour marathon. After the Czech won the title at the WTA 250 tournament in Tallinn last week, she now has the opportunity to bring a bombastic final phase to an otherwise rather messed-up season.

Yesterday, the number one and local hero of the Ons Jabeur tournament failed at the WTA Tour 250 event in Monastir. The Tunisian was beaten in the quarter-finals by the American Claire Liu 3: 6, 6: 4, 4: 6. In the semifinals on Saturday, however, the 22-year-old Californian couldn't play against Elise Mertens from Belgium and lost 4:6, 0:6. The second finalist is Alize Cornet, who eliminated the Russian Veronika Kudermetova 6:4, 6:3 in the semifinals.
