WTA Palermo: Camila Giorgi completes Italian trio in the quarter-finals

Juvan had come into the main draw via the qualifying competition and delivered a surprise right at the start of the tournament by beating second-placed Marketa Vondrousova. The Slovenian also got off to a strong start against Giorgi, but ended up being beaten 6: 3, 2: 6 and 4: 6. Giorgi will play against Dayana Yastremska in the last eight this Friday. The Ukrainian had no problems 6: 2, 6: 4 against the French lucky loser Oceane Dodin.
But Camilia Giorgi is not the only Italian hope for a home win in Palermo: Former champion Sara Errani can expect good chances of advancing in her quarter-final match against Fiona Ferro.
