Ferro defeated Estonian Anett Kontaveit 6: 2, 7: 5 in the final of the WTA International tournament endowed with 163,103 euros.

For the 23-year-old it was the second tournament victory after Lausanne 2019.

Ferro had only given one set in the course of the tournament - against Camila Giorgi in the semifinals, which she won 7: 5 in the third set.

She apparently made good use of the Corona break: She already celebrated ten wins in ten matches at her two previous invitation tournaments. She spent the shutdown at home, where she has her own tennis court.

Ferro cracks the top 50 for the first time

"I think that was my best match of the whole week," said Ferro after her tournament victory . "I was relaxed - I don't know why, it was a final after all."

Ferro will thus move into the top 50 in the world for the first time, specifically at number 44.

"This title means a lot to me, especially after five months of training. I was already happy to be back on the pitch and playing. It's an even better way to end the week with a win."
