Last week Julia Grabher (WTA 201) had a three-set opening defeat at the 250 clay court tournament in Budapest. And this week, too, there was nothing with a major competition success on the WTA Tour level. Dornbirn, who turned 25 on July 2nd, lost her first-round duel at the 32nd Palermo Ladies Open against Russian Vitalia Diatchenko (WTA 145) 3: 6 and 6: 7 (5) after 1:52 hours of play.

Especially in the second set, the Vorarlberg woman showed her fighting skills, which were ultimately not rewarded. Austria's number two caught up 4-0 and successfully made it into the tie-break. And the short decision was not an obvious thing for the 30-year-old lady from Sochi. At the end of the day, however, Grabher continues to wait for the first victory in the main competition of a WTA Tour event.
