Marie Bouzkova won the title in Prague under strange circumstances

Marie Bouzkova has won her first title on the WTA Tour. And then in front of a home crowd. In a highly one-sided final - looking at the final result - the Czech defeated Anastasia Potapova 6:0 and 6:3. Bouzkova will now be absent from the WTA event in Washington, the 24-year-old canceled her start at short notice.

"I just couldn't be happier," said Bouzkova after her final triumph in Prague. "It's a dream come true and I enjoyed playing in front of the home crowd so much." On her way to winning the title in Prague, the 24-year-old did not drop a set last week.

Title win without a winner

And yet there is something in the final against Potapova that makes you suspicious: a look at the official statistics of the WTA. This states that Bouzkova won this endgame without producing a single winning blow. Opponent Potapova get at least twelve of them.

Why Bouzkova was then able to leave the court so clearly victorious can be found in the unforced error statistics: Potapova has 44 shots there, her Czech opponent only lost eight.
