Jabeur now travels to Rome with no points to defend, giving him a chance to climb even higher. Her victory in Madrid set the bar high, but she says she just wants to enjoy her success: “I'll just keep playing like this. I love this time, this week. Conditions are probably different in Rome, so I'll tell you that I have to be smart in Rome. I really have to take my chance because I don't have any points to defend. I will do my best to go as far as possible in this tournament and of course prepare for the biggest challenge, the French Open."

Pegula higher than ever - 11th place

America's Jessica Pegula climbs to eleventh in the rankings - a career high and recognition for her outstanding performance over the past 12 months and of course her run to the Madrid final. Pegula's consistency and ability to play too strong on all surfaces propelled her from 31st to the fringes of the top-10 this time last year. "I still wanted to win the tournament more than maybe finish in the top 10," she said. "It's definitely a goal this year because I'm so close."

Swiatek leads by 2000 points

Iga Swiatek wants to defend her title and also the points in Rome. The Pole is more than 2000 points ahead of Barbora Krejcikova, who moved up from Paula Badosa in second place. Swiatek canceled Madrid to take some of the pressure off her right shoulder.
