WTA ranking: Osorio higher than ever, Yastremska makes a big leap

Although Camila Osorio narrowly lost to Leylah Fernandez in the Monterrey final, she jumps nine spots to reach a career high of 35th place. Dayana Yastremska climbs 37 places.

Last week, the women's tournaments got down to business in Mexico (Monterry) and France (Lyon). We have a few notable changes in the ranking for you here in this article - before the 1000 tournament in Indian Wells will soon continue.

Zhang Shuai celebrated her third career title in Lyon - and her first outside of China. Her previous successes came in Guangzhou (2013 and 2017). The 33-year-old is the first Chinese woman since 2019 (then Zheng Saisai in San Jose) to win a singles title at tour level. Zhang Shuai moves up 23 spots, climbing from 64th to 41st this week.

Dayana Yastremska managed the biggest jump. After reaching the final in Lyon, the Ukrainian climbed a full 37 places – from position 140 to position 103. Leylah Fernandez did not move after successfully defending her title from Monterrey. She is still in 21st place. Her opponent in the final, Camila Osorio, who was close to winning the title, moved up nine places and is currently doing better than ever - 35th place.

Also good news from a German perspective:Tamara Korpatsch reached the second round of Lyon as a qualifier and collected a total of 48 WTA points. They go up 20 places. It is currently at position 147.
