Now it's finally official what the feeling has been suggesting all year: Iga Swiatek is at least twice as good as the rest of the world. Well, maybe the difference in the final of the US Open against Ons Jabeur wasn't that blatant after all. In the current world rankings, however, Swiatek (10,365) has more than twice as many points as Jabeur (5,090), who returned to second place in the charts.
Two Americans have worked their way up: Jessica Pegula is among the five best women in the world for the first time, Coco Gauff made it into the top ten and is currently eighth.
Swiatek and Jabeur qualified for the WTA Finals
A new career high can also be reported for Julia Grabher. The Austrian number one confirmed the strong form of the last few weeks with their tournament victory at the WTA Tour 125 tournament in Bari. And jumps into the top 100 players in the world for the first time - namely in position 97.
In the annual ranking, the Race to Fort Worth, Swiatek and Jabeur have already secured a place at the season finale. Pegula and Gauff follow in third and fourth place, Caroline Garcia, Aryna Sabalenka, Daria Kasatkina and Simona Halep would also currently be qualified.
