With a lot of effort in the final: Ons Jabeur

The last time these two players met was not long ago, in the round of 16 in Stuttgart. Jabeur won comfortably with 6:3 and 6:3. Then she failed in the quarterfinals to Paula Badosa. However, that was their last defeat for the time being. The outstanding tournament victory in Madrid and strong performances in the first rounds in Rome followed.

After Iga Swiatek defeated Aryna Sabalenka 6:2 and 6:1 in the afternoon, a very competitive game developed between Jabeur and Kasatkina, in which Jabeur found his way better with the help of some good stops. She won the first set 6:4, but couldn't keep that level in the second. On the contrary: The second set went away very quickly, similar to the match in Madrid against Jessica Pegula. Kasatkina improved, although the Tunisian's margin of error increased – 6-1 for Kasatkina.

Hard fought third set

In the third round, Ons Jabeur was actually in charge. Already with Break before, but she dropped physically. Double faults and careless mistakes crept in. Kasatkina got the break in crunch time at 4: 4 and served for the match, even had a match point - but then buckled in turn. In the end, Jabeur won the third round with 7:5.

So Ons Jabeur will face Iga Swiatek in tomorrow's final, against whom she has a positive record (2-1).
