Great success for Daria Kasatkina: The seventh seeded Russian is in the final of the WTA 500 tournament in San Jose. In the semi-finals, the 25-year-old clearly held her own against world number four Paula Badosa 6: 2 and 6: 4.

Kasatkina now meets Shelby Rogers in the final. In the semifinals, the American seamlessly continued her strong performances in the previous tournament and beat Veronika Kudermetova 6:3 and 6:4. With a win on Sunday, the 29-year-old would win her first career title.

At the WTA 250 tournament in Washington, meanwhile, the final is Kaia Kanepi against Liudmila Samsonova. The Estonian beat Daria Saville 6-1 and 6-3 in the semifinals, Samsonova had even fewer problems in the 6-1 and 6-1 win over Xiyu Wang.
