WTA Seoul: Raducanu starts successfully, Maria already in the quarterfinals

Raducanu showed no weaknesses in the 6: 2 and 6: 4 against the Japanese Moyuka Uchijima. The 2021 US Open winner, who started sixth, now meets Yanina Wickmayer in the round of 16. The Belgian put an end to Linda Fruhvirtova's run of success for the time being, winning 6-1 and 6-4.
Tatjana Maria is already one round further and thus in the quarterfinals. The German Wimbledon semi-finalist had no problems with Kimberly Birrell from Australia, winning 6-0 and 6-3. Maria is now playing against Lin Zhu from China.
The field in Seoul is led by Jelena Ostapenko ahead of Ekaterina Alexandrova.
