WTA Strasbourg: Barbora Krejcikova wins first WTA tournament
The Czech Barbora Krejcikova won her first WTA tournament in Strasbourg.

The world rankings 38. won the final of the 250 tournament against Sorana Cirstea 6: 3, 6: 3. Krejcikova had defeated the German surprise player Jule Niemeier in three hard-fought sets in the semifinals.
Krejcikova won her first WTA title - in the individual, mind you. The 25-year-old has already won eight doubles titles, including the French Open and Wimbledon 2018. She has been number 1 in the doubles world rankings for twelve weeks.
But things are getting better and better in the individual as well, Krejcikova will be in 33rd place in the new world rankings, it has never been so high.
