While the favorite on paper, Kiki Bertens, had to give up early in the upper half of the draw, on today's semifinals day at the WTA event in Strasbourg, in the lower half, the top match between Elina Svitolina and Aryna Sabalenka could be looked forward to. As expected, the competitive match develops, in which the Ukrainian Svitolina got the better start and won set one.

In the second round, however, Sabalenka struck back - and set 6: 4 to 1: 1 sets. A decision sentence had to bring the decision accordingly. In this Svitolina managed the early break, which Sabalenka was able to equalize. When the game got into the hot phase, it got really chaotic. Svitolina managed the new break to 5: 3, but had to accept the rebreak immediately, only to be able to fix the 6: 2, 4: 6 and 6: 4 victory with the fifth break of the set.
