The Japanese spectators were only able to watch one game to watch Naomi Osaka at the WTA Tour 500 tournament in Tokyo on Tuesday. Because right after the start of the game, Osaka's opponent Daria Saville fell so hard that she had to give up at the first change of ends. The four-time Major winner's next opponent will be Beatriz Haddad Maia of Brazil, number five in the tournament.
Also further is Karolina Pliskova. The Czech prevailed against Isabella Shinikova 6-2 and 6-1 and will face Croatia's Petra Martic in round two.
Leading the tableau in Tokyo is Paula Badosa, who enjoys a bye in round one, along with Caroline Garcia, Garbine Muguruza and Veronika Kudermetova.
