Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Barbora Krejcikova improved a few places in the world rankings

It is extremely rare that nothing happens in the top ten of the world rankings after a Grand Slam tournament. After the French Open 2021, however, exactly this case occurred, in the top regions of the WTA rankings there were no changes. So Ashleigh Barty continues to lead the charts ahead of Naomi Osaka, Simona Halep and Aryna Sabalenka.

However, for example, last year's winner Iga Swiatek, who is currently in ninth place, will not lose the 2000 points for last season's triumph until the fall of this year due to the later date in 2020. However, the French Open points from 2019 are no longer taken into account.

Krejcikova in second place in the Race to Shenzhen

The newly crowned winner Barbora Krejcikova can look forward to a new career high: The Czech, who in addition to the single competition alongside Katerina Siniakova, also won the double title in Paris, improved by 18 positions and is now in 15th place. Final opponent Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova made up 13 places and is in 19th place in the world rankings.

They also made up a lot of ground in the Race to Shenzhen: Krejcikova is now in second place behind Barty, Pavlyuchenkova in seventh. The remaining quintet, which from the current perspective should serve the eight best players at the season finale, consists of Sabalenka, Osaka, Swiatek, Garbine Muguruza and Maria Sakkari.
