Iga Swiatek continues to lead the world rankings

Iga Swiatek continues to be the measure of all things in women's tennis. After her impressive triumph at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, the Pole continues to lead the ranking of the best players in the world. The 21-year-old is more than 2,000 points ahead of her first pursuer, Aryna Sabalenka. Third place is currently taken by Jessica Pegula. Ons Jabeur and Caroline Garcia complete the top five.

Overall, nothing has changed in the WTA charts compared to the previous week, the first player to enjoy two places up is Karolina Pliskova in 15th place. Paula Badosa, however, fell eleven places down falls and can only be found at rank 42. Exactly one year ago, the Spaniard had reached her previous career high with second place.

Maria advances, Grabher loses

The best German in the ranking this week is Tatjana Maria, who moves up five places and thus pushes ahead of compatriot Jule Niemeier. The 23-year-old lost two places compared to the previous week. Anna-Lena Friedsam as 88th is the third and last German in the current top 100.

From an Austrian point of view, Julia Graber has had to put up with a damper in terms of world rankings for a long time. The Vorarlberg native fell 14 places, but Grabher, 92nd, is still the only Austrian in the top 100 in women's tennis. Number two in the country is Sinja Kraus, currently world number 153.
