After the disappointing performances in the USA at the WTA 500 event in Charleston, Ons Jabeur stated quite openly that the return to the Sunshine Double was probably a little too early in her recovery process. The Tunisian disappointed at the WTA 1000 events - and also fell back into the ejection seat within the top 5 in terms of world rankings.

The North African has now given it up again. After the strong performance in Charleston, which crowned Jabeur with the title win on Sunday, the 28-year-old is back in fourth place. Jabeur overtook neighbor Caroline Garcia in the latest update of the WTA World Rankings. However, the ranking is still led by the same trio: Iga Swiatek on number one, followed by Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula.

Few changes

Apart from Jabeur and Garcia swapping places, the WTA top 10 remain unchanged this week - also because it was a quiet week on the WTA tour. Especially when it comes to the top positions in the ranking. Next improvement: Victoria Azarenka, who moves up two places and is currently world number 16. is.

The US-American Amanda Anisimova, however, lost a whopping twelve places and is only just among the top 50 players. Jule Niemeier remains the best German this week as 65. Just behind them there is extremely positive news from an Austrian point of view: Julia Grabher, who celebrated two victories in the main draw in Charleston, is eleven places up to a new career high: 78th place. The third German in the top 100 is Anna-Lena Friedsam continues, the 29-year-old climbed two places to rank 91.
