Paula Badosa is again number three in the world

There were no landslides this week when I looked at the WTA world rankings: Iga Swiatek remains the superior number one, the first pursuer is still Ons Jabeur from Tunisia. But: The second in the world rankings only has almost exactly half the points of the Polish Swiatek. It's a lot closer behind it, where Paula Badosa has just pushed ahead of Anett Kontaveit - and is now the new number three in the world.

There is also a shift in sixth place: Aryna Sabalenka has pushed past Maria Sakkari and is now just behind Jessica Pegula, fifth in the world rankings. Coco Gauff completes the current top 8 for women behind Sakkari. However, just twelve points separate Gauff from the ninth Simona Halep.

Close DTB duel

Liudmila Samsonova (+7 in 23rd place) and Quinwen Zheng (+8 in 28th place) made the biggest jump within the top 30. Naomi Osaka is still just inside the top 50, the Japanese made up two places and is ranked 46th in the world.

The fight for Germany's number one is really exciting: Tatjana Maria is leading the race with 829 points, Angelique Kerber (currently pregnant) and Jule Niemeier are very close behind with 828 and 819 points respectively.
