Carlos Alcaraz, who is only 17 years old, is not getting quiet. After the young man from Spain only became aware of the young man from Spain at the beginning of the year, when he was able to defeat his compatriot Albert Ramos-Vinolas in Rio de Janeiro, the Iberian recently celebrated his first title on the ATP Challenger Tour. Now Alcaraz has already added his second and triumphed in Barcelona.
Part of an elite club
In the final, the Spaniard faced a seasoned player on the ATP tour, Damir Dzumhur. The Bosnian got off to a better start and secured the first round, but then his 17-year-old counterpart really turned up and made the 4: 6, 6: 2 and 6: 1 victory perfect. This means that Alcaraz will improve to 158th place in the world. The Spaniard is only the twelfth player to celebrate several titles on the Challenger Tour at the age of 17. Part of this elite club include Rafael Nadal, Juan Martin Del Potro and Jannik Sinner.
"I'm very happy to win in Barcelona. The truth is, I didn't know how it was going to go because last week I lost in the second round in Biella. Little by little I gained confidence and found my form " said Alcaraz after his victory. Since resuming the tour, the Spaniard has won 15 of his 18 games.
