37 years old and still a big show - Dustin Brown is celebrating his birthday

Dustin Brown's appearances on the ATP tour have become rare, in fact, for the German, who is celebrating his 37th birthday today, there has only been one this year: In Stuttgart, Brown had to narrowly defeat Nikoloz Basilashvili in round one give. Also noteworthy is the good qualification tournament that Brown played at the Australian Open - even if the third round ended against Maxime Cressy.
Things went better in doubles, especially with partner Andrea Vavassori, with whom Brown won the ATP Challenger tournaments in Naples and Tulln. Together with Peter Gojowczyk , Brown was in the semifinals at the ATP event in Munich, where he lost a delicate tiebreak against Sander Gille and Joran Viegen.
Two wins against Rafael Nadal
Now, as is well known, Dustin Brown is not a player who has to play doubles in order to enjoy the net. The big players in tennis have already had problems with this, above all Rafael Nadal, against whom Brown was victorious in 2014 in Halle / Westphalia and a year later in Wimbledon.
Patrick Mouratoglou has also recognized that Brown is still a great entertainer on the court regardless of his world rankings (currently 338). And invited Brown to his academy for an edition of the Ultimate Tennis Showdown in 2020. "Dreddy" didn't disappoint its fans.
In any case, there are no longer many players on the tour who like Dustin Brown like to go for something unconventional. Nick Kyrgios comes to mind , against whom Brown lost in five straight sets at Wimbledon in 2016. In a very serious match, by the way, which of course also had a few magic strokes to offer. Kyrgios, however, has little fun with tennis, most recently the Australian was seen at the Laver Cup in Boston in a rather listless performance against Stefanos Tsitsipas. Such a thing cannot happen to Dustin Brown even at the age of 37.
