Next setback for Dominic Thiem : The Austrian will not play the ATP 250 tournament in Marrakech next week. The 28-year-old had tested positive for the corona virus on Wednesday and will therefore not continue his comeback tour for the time being.
As Thiem announced on Friday, he is currently recovering from the infection in a hotel in Marbella. "Unfortunately, the next test was still positive, but I feel pretty good, I only have mild symptoms and I'm a little tired," said the Lichtenwörther in a video message.
Thiem played his first match on Tuesday after an injury break of around nine months and lost it in two sets against Pedro Cachin . It is currently still unclear whether the 2020 US Open winner will start in Monte Carlo on April 10th.
In Marrakech, meanwhile, Felix Auger-Aliassime is leading the pack. In addition, Dan Evans, Fabio Fognini and Albert Ramos-Vinolas will also serve in Morocco.
