Ambitious Federer in Halle: "Victory must always be the goal"
Roger Federer is back in Halle / Westphalia - and wants to win the ATP 500 tournament for the tenth time.

Swiss tennis star Roger Federer has great ambitions for the ATP tournament in Halle / Westphalia. "Victory must always be the goal here in Halle," said the Grand Slam record winner in the run-up to the prestigious lawn tournament (until June 23) on Sunday: "I'm injury-free, I feel a lot of guts, I love it easy to play in this place and that's why I go into the tournament with a very good feeling. "
A triumph at the Noventi Open would have a very special touch for the 37-year-old - after all, Federer has never won a tournament on the ATP tour ten times. "It would be insane to do that," said Federer, who is serving in East Westphalia for the 17th time.
Federer feels "fresh, rested and ready"
The Swiss are confident after their successful comeback on clay at the French Open. "It was good to be back in the semi-finals of a Grand Slam," said Federer, who was beaten by the eventual winner Rafael Nadal (Spain) in the last round of Paris last week. Federer felt "really fresh, well rested and ready" for the upcoming lawn season with the highlight Wimbledon (1st to 14th July).
The third in the world rankings will meet Australian John Millman in Halle. Federer had been up against the number 56 in the ranking at the last meeting so far in the last sixteen of the US Open last year. In the first round of the French Open, Germany's top player Alexander Zverev (Hamburg) beat Millman only in five sets. "John is always an extremely tough opponent, one who gives you nothing," said Federer.
