Andrea Petkovic wins first tournament in six years
Andrea Petkovic (Darmstadt) continued her upward trend at the WTA tournament in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and celebrated her first tournament victory since February 2015.

In the final, the 33-year-old made short work of Mayar Sherif from Egypt and won 6: 1, 6: 1.
Petkovic had already advanced to the final at the WTA tournament in Hamburg four weeks ago and has now won ten of eleven games since her second round defeat at Wimbledon on July 1st.
Sherif, number 119 in the world, made history with her entry into the final, she is the first Egyptian to reach a final at a WTA tournament.
Petkovic traveled to Cluj-Napoca as number 91 in the world and was ranked second there. Due to her tournament victory she will be listed among the top 70 in the world again from tomorrow.
