Slovakian tennis pro Andrej Martin has been suspended after a positive doping test. The allegations are rejected by the world number 204. categorically off.

Andrej Martin will be absent from the ATP and Challenger tour until further notice. After the world rankings-204. tested positive for illegal substances at an event in Bratislava, the International Tennis Federation suspended the Slovak for the duration of the investigation.

Martin himself categorically rejects the allegations, as Express quoted the 32-year-old: "The news about the positive doping test shocked me. I categorically reject the idea that I intentionally took something off the list of banned substances," he said 32-year-old in a statement. "I take very few supplements and haven't changed them in the last five years."

Honesty is the top priority for the Slovak, as he asserted: "My parents taught me from a young age to be honest in both sport and life. I've always been the same and anyone who knows me knows how much I cheat and condemn lies," said the 32-year-old. "The whole situation is incomprehensible to me because I have done dozens of tests throughout my career and I never doubted that the result would be negative every time."

Andrej Martin reached his career high in 2020 with 93rd place and is considered a perennial favorite in the Slovakian Davis Cup team. In his career, the 32-year-old has reached an ATP final: 2016 in Umag, when the final against Fabio Fognini was the final stop. Martin played his last match a good two weeks ago in Trieste on the Challenger Tour.
