The tournament management announced this on Monday (local time). The 33-year-old Scot will be competing at the Miami Open for the first time since 2016, and he was able to triumph in Florida in 2009 and 2013.

Murray's wife Kim Sears gave birth to the couple's fourth child last Thursday, so the two-time Wimbledon and Olympic champion Murray decided not to start this week in Dubai.

In addition to Murray, Carlos Alcaraz, Michael Mmoh, Hugo Gaston and Jack Draper also receive wild cards for the men's main draw. In the women's category, Anna Kalinskaya, Ana Konjuh, Storm Sanders, Katrina Scott, Mayar Sherif, Xiyu Wang and Xinyu Wang were among the lucky ones.

Kim Clijsters had given back her wildcard due to an injury.
