Anna-Lena Friedsam (Neuwied) was eliminated from the WTA tournament in Luxembourg after a slump in the third set.

The 27-year-old, number 126 in the tennis world rankings, lost 6: 7 (5: 7), 6: 3, 6: 7 (4: 7) in the first round of the 174 places below the Dutch Arianne Hartono.
Friedsam led 4: 1 and 5: 2 in the decisive round, but lost the duel in the tie-break.
Hartono will face Dortmund's Jule Niemeier or former French Open winner Jelena Ostapenko (Latvia) in the round of 16.
