At the beginning of his second round encounter against Diego Schwartzman, Andy Murraydid not notice much from the epic first round battle against Frances Tiafoe: The three-time Grand Slam winner quickly took a 4-1 lead and dictated the events on the Center Court of Antwerp at will.
After that, Schwartzman, who was seeded in second position, found his way into the game better and better, five game wins and the associated win of the first set were the result. You shouldn't look at Murray's exertion of the first round match at any time, but the Scot was the first of the two players to give up his serve in the second round.
But Murray did not open up and hit back to 4: 4. It should be the last break in this sentence, consequently it went into a tiebreak. This was extremely even, but after 2:13 hours of play, Schwartzman converted his first match point to 6: 4 and 7: 6 (6) success.
Before that, the audience in Belgium had seen a surprise: The number four of the tournament, Roberto Bautista Agut, lost to Marton Fucsovics 7: 6 (5), 3: 6 and 1: 6. The German Jan-Lennard Struff also had to give up on Thursday .
