The Italian generation duo sat down after less than an hour of play time with 6: 3 and 6: 1. Paolo Lorenzi is now 37 years old - playing in an age league with Melzer and Marach - Jannik Sinner just turned 18. And last but not least at the US Open in the individual delivered a talent test. In New York, Sinner Stan Wawrinka called in round one until the fourth set, also in Antwerp, the young South Tyrol has played strong to kick off. And defeated the Pole Kamil Majchrzak smoothly.

The double with Lorenzi took the teenager along with, now the two are in the second round. For Marach and Melzer, meanwhile, the trend of the tournaments in Asia continues. Already in Tokyo and Shanghai, the two veterans lost in round one. The next appearance will be next week at the ATP Tour 500 tournament in Vienna.
