How to justify a wild card: Jannik Sinner continued his convincing opening win over Kamil Majchrzak at the ATP Tour 250 tournament in Antwerp. The only 18-year-old Italian swept the event's number one, Gael Monfils, 6: 3 and 6: 2 from the court and is thus in the quarter-finals. There Sinner gets to do it on Friday with Frances Tiafoe, who defeated Jan-Lennard Struff in two sets. Sinner is currently still in 118th position in the ATP World Ranking List, and the thriller among the top 100 pros in the world could already succeed against Tiafoe.

Sinner celebrated his first match win at this level at the ATP Masters 1000 Tournament in Rome this year, defeating Steve Johnson at the Campo Centrale in Foro Italico. At the US Open, the South Tyrolean, who until a few years ago also had a ski career in mind, managed to qualify for the peloton, where he lost to Stan Wawrinka after a good game.

Andy Murray continued his comeback in Antwerp. In a 6: 4 and 6: 3 against Pablo Cuevas convinced the three-time major champion with all facets of his game, leaving the man from Uruguay no chance. Murray meets Marius Copil in the quarter-finals, with whom he delivered an epic match in Washington DC in the summer of 2018. With a performance as against Cuevas, who is a completely different type of player than the high-impact Copil, Andy Murray should be able to reach a semi-final again for the first time.
