Humbert won against Alex de Minaur from Australia 6: 1, 7: 6 (4). It was the second career title for the 22-year-old. He had previously won in Auckland earlier this year.
Humbert will thus continue to improve in the ATP ranking: He is currently listed at 38th place, higher than ever before, on Monday he will probably rank 32nd.
Ugo Humbert: 4 match balls fended off in the semifinals
Humbert was actually almost eliminated: In the semifinals against Dan Evans, he made up a 3: 6 deficit in the tiebreak of the second set and blocked a total of four match points.
He joins Jiri Vesely (in Pune), Reilly Opelka (in Delray Beach), Novak Djokovic (in Dubai) - the three also fought off match points on their way to the title.
