ATP Astana: Medvedev fixes semi-final hit against Djokovic with gala
Daniil Medvedev entered the semifinals of the ATP Tour 500 tournament in Astana with a gala performance. The Russian defeated Roberto Bautista Agut 6-1 and 6-1 and will face Novak Djokovic tomorrow.

Not feared opponents: Before the match in Astana, Daniil Medvedev had only won one match out of five against Roberto Bautista Agut. In the Kazakh capital, however, the 2021 US Open champion was in a hurry: After just 64 minutes, Medvedev made it into the semifinals with a score of 6: 1 and 6: 1. Novak Djokovic is waiting there, who defeated Karen Khachanov 6: 4 and 6: 3.
Medvedev was naturally pleased with his performance, although he noted that his opponent could play far better than they did that night in Astana. Ahead of the meeting with Djokovic, Medvedev explained that even before the match he thought that this is only the second tournament in 2022 that he and Djokovic will start together. The first was the French Open.
In the first semi-final on Saturday, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Andrey Rublev will face each other (live on Sky from 12 noon). The Greek won in a close match against Hubert Hurkacz 7: 6 (8) and 6: 3. Rublev defeated Adrian Mannarino 6-2, 6-1 in the first game of the day.
