Djokovic ultimately won 6-3, 6-4, celebrating his fourth tournament victory in 2022 - and the 90th in his career. Only last week, Djoker won the tournament in Tel Aviv.

Djokovic had little trouble against the Greek in the end. When he served himself, he didn't allow anything at all, Tsitsipas didn't get a break chance, on the contrary: Djokovic won 41 of 48 service points. Only in the last service game of the match did he have to make a debut - but then he just made a backhand longline right on the baseline.

In addition, he played offensively in a controlled manner like in the best of times, Tsitsipas, on the other hand, made too many minor mistakes, a total of 25, to be able to pose a threat to Djokovic in any way. And just revealed big problems with the return games.

Djokovic qualifies for ATP Finals

With his tournament victory, Djokovic has now safely qualified for the ATP Finals in Turin. Because: No matter how everyone else plays, he is definitely in the top 20 at the end of the year, which is enough for him thanks to his Grand Slam tournament victory in Wimbledon.

Djokovic had missed the Australian Open and all Canadian and US tournaments this year because he was not allowed to enter the country due to his lack of a corona vaccination. And so he was also missing at the US Open. And in Wimbledon: There were no ranking points this year. This also raises the question of the extent to which his current ranking of 7th place is meaningful - because Djokovic is currently playing like number 1.

The 21-time Grand Slam tournament champion will probably take a break and is only registered again for the ATP Masters tournament in Paris. And then just wants to play the ATP Finals.
