Emil Ruusuvuori is the only man who could still prevent a home win at the ATP Tour 250 tournament in Atlanta. Because the other three semi-finalists all come from the USA: T aylor Fritz, John Isner and Brandon Nakashima, who is playing better and better and who was in the final of an ATP tournament for the first time in Los Cabos last week. And lost to Cameron Norrie there. That Norrie who drew the short straw against Ruusivuori from Finland in the quarter-finals on Friday.

Ruusuvuori has already made people sit up and take notice this year, namely in Miami when he defeated a slightly ailing Alexander Zverev . The 19-year-old Nakashima, on the other hand, will appear among the top 100 players in the world for the first time after his entry into the semi-finals in Atlanta next Monday.

In the second semifinals, the better-known names face each other with John Isner and Taylor Fritz. Fritz fought an epic fight with Reilly Opelka, winning 7: 6 (5), 6; 7 (3) and 7: 6 (3) after a playing time of 2:52 hours. Isner made it almost as exciting against Christopher O'Connell, prevailing 7: 6 (5), 6: 7 (3) and 6: 4.
