Rafael Nadal is in the semi-finals after a clear win over Cameron Norrie

In his first two games at the ATP 500 event in Barcelona, Rafael Nadal had given one round each, but the Spaniard did not lose an additional set in the quarter-finals. The 20-time Grand Slam winner only had to fight Cameron Norrie at the beginning and at the very end, but ultimately prevailed 6: 1 and 6: 4 without any threat.

The 34-year-old should have been particularly satisfied with the serve that gave him a headache in his quarter-final defeat in Monte Carlo. Nadal won 71 percent of all points after the first service, allowed only one break and also hit four aces.

In the semi-finals, the world number three will face Diego Schwartzman or Pablo Carreno Busta on Saturday. The semi-finals of the lower half are contested by Stefanos Tsitsipas and Jannik Sinner. Both had already qualified for the semifinals before Nadal with two-set successes .
