The matter lasted 68 minutes on Center Court in Belgrade, whose grandstands were very sparsely occupied in contrast to the Adria Tour last early summer. Novak Djokovic was of course never confused by this, in his home country it is always important to the industry leader to excel.

The Korean Soonwoo Kwon, who was inexperienced on the sand, did not make that particularly difficult for him. 6: 1 and 6: 3 was the final score in favor of the favorite. Kwon started another small comeback at 1: 5 in the second set, but the host closed the game with a break.

Tournament favorite Djokovic has a game-free Thursday ahead of him, on Friday a purely Serbian duel with Miomir Kecmanovic awaits. The 2020 Kitzbühel champion beat Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech 6: 3, 3: 6 and 6: 3.
