Every training session in Paris at the French Open would have been more strenuous and, above all, longer: Because Novak Djokovic, who is the only one of the top favorites to take part in a tournament this week, only spent 56 match minutes on the court on Thursday in Belgrade before he reached the semifinals of the ATP Tour 250 event with a 6: 1 and 6: 0 against Federico Coria. In his first appearance in his hometown, Djokovic had to fight much harder against Mats Moraing, especially in the second set, against the Argentine Coria everything was pretty easy for the industry leader.

Djokovic is also taking part in the second ATP tournament in Belgrade this spring because his brother is the tournament director there. In the first edition, Djokovic failed in the semifinals to Aslan Karatsev.

In the semi-finals on Friday it could now come to a purely Serbian duel with Dusan Lajovic. But first of all he has to assert himself against the Slovak Andrej Martin.
