ATP: Berrettini is probably making a comeback in Indian Wells
Mattei Berrettini , who was a sensational semi-finalist at the US Open last year, is expected to return to the Indian Wells tournament on the tennis court in mid-March.

Matteo Berrettini recently had to cancel several tournaments due to an abdominal muscle injury. These problems have plagued the Italian since the beginning of the season and also negatively affected the performance of his only tournament this year, the Australian Open. In Melbourne, number eight in the world lost in the second round to the American Tennys Sandgren.
In a recent interview, his coach Vincenzo Santopadre praised his protege's handling of this difficult situation: “Of course he did not like to accept the injury, but after initial problems he showed a better response. Matteo has always found time to reflect and find new stimuli, even with past injuries. I am convinced that this is the case again ”
Return expected at Masters in Indian Wells
Due to injury, he now has to take a break at the Davis Cup, too, and can only support the Italian team from afar in the encounter with South Korea. The Azurri are racing with Fabio Fognini , Lorenzo Sonego, Gianluca Mager, Stefano Travaglia and Simone Bolelli. This ensemble is expected to successfully complete the compulsory task on March 6 and 7 in Cagliari.
Matteo Berrettini will likely celebrate his return at the Masters in Indian Wells. There it will be shown whether the Italian is healthy and in shape again and can continue his strong performance in 2019. Berrettini had also shown remarkable performances in Germany (tournament victory in Stuttgart, final entry in Munich) and Austria (semifinals in Vienna). Above all, the semi-finals of the US Open and reaching the ATP Nitto Finals in London stood out as the greatest successes.
