Schwartzman first beat Francisco Cerundolo 3: 6, 6: 2 and 7: 5, the game had been stopped the day before due to rain when the score was 1: 1 in the third round.

Later he also won in the almost three-hour semifinal against Lorenzo Sonego with 7:5, 3:6 and 6:2 and is again in the final at the home tournament. Schwartzman is currently the defending champion.

Casper Ruud: The audience is fair

In the final, Schwartzman meets top seed Casper Ruud, who triumphed in Buenos Aires in 2020. Ruud made relatively short work of Federico Delbonis at 6:3, 6:3, although the match lasted 1 hour and 39 minutes.

Ruud is looking forward to the final, although it seems clear to him that he not only has to play against Schwartzman, but also against the crowd again. "Obviously the spectators cheer for the Argentines, that's normal," he explained. "But they are fair to me, if you play good rallies, they applaud both players."
