ATP Cagliari: Lorenzo Sonego wins home title

The Italian Lorenzo Sonego won the second individual title of his career at the Sardegna Open.

The world number 34. beat Laslo Djere 2: 6, 7: 6 (5) and 6: 4 in the final and won his second title after the Antalya Open in 2019.

Sonego was even twice as successful in Cagliari: He had previously won the double title alongside Andrea Vavassori. He is the first player since Feliciano Lopez in Queen's 2019 to do so.

In doubles it was his debut triumph on the ATP tour.
