Andy Murray had little trouble with Gael Monfils

If anyone knows how long it takes to come back from injury, it's Andy Murray. But Gael Monfils has also had to take one or two breaks in his career. At the moment, however, the Scottish legend is in much better shape than his long-term French colleague. Murray beat Monfils 6-3, 6-2 in the first round of Aix-en-Provence and now meets Laurent Lokoli.

In another first-round hit, David Goffin had won against Benoit Paire 7: 6 (0) and 6: 1. The tournament in Aix-en-Provence benefits from the extension of the tournaments in Madrid and Rome to twelve days. So there are some prominent names in the tableau that were eliminated early in the Caja Magica. Like the American Tommy Paul, who was seeded at number one.

Austria's Jurij Rodionov, who won 1:6, 6:1 and 6:4 against Arthur Cazaux, is also one round ahead. Rodionov plays eighth-seeded Argentina's Tomas Etcheverry in round two.
