On his way to the final in Hamburg, Ofner had first defeated Dustin Brown and in round two Hugo Gaston, who had tormented Dominic Thiem with a flood of stops at the French Open. In the semi-finals, the Austrian Davis Cup player won against Kamil Majchrzak 7: 6 (3) and 6: 1. Which is interesting in that Ofner will have to face the Poles again next week - then at the Challenger in Eckental.
The final against Taro Daniel didn't go well from the start, after 70 minutes the Japanese was celebrated as the winner. Ofner took away prize money of 3,650 euros and 48 points for the ATP world rankings from Hamburg.
