After there was no ticketing in the previous year due to the corona pandemic, the finalists were able to fight for the title this year in front of an enthusiastic crowd with around 250 spectators. In the final, Oscar Otte (ATP 135) met Lukas Lacko (ATP 212) from Slovakia, who won the title at the Wolffkran Open in 2019. The 28-year-old Otte got off to a better start in the game. In the very first game he was able to take the serve from his 33-year-old opponent and thus secure the first set. The exact same picture in the second set, when Peter Moraing's protégé was able to make the decisive break to win the set in the first game. With 87% won first serves without allowing a break ball himself, the Cologne celebrated an undisputed 6: 4, 6: 4 victory after 69 minutes. After his victories in Lisbon 2017 and Aix-en-Provence 2020, Otte was able to celebrate his third ATP Challenger title in Ismaning, the first on German soil. After the victory of TennisBase professional Yannick Hanfmann, who won the first edition of the Wolffkran Open in 2017, the Ismaning audience was able to celebrate a German winner again.

Following the encounter, Otte commented: “ I started the game perfectly and felt very comfortable when I served. I had a lot of free points and few close games on my own serve. So I was able to act more freely in his service games and then some balls flew in that would otherwise supposedly go out. I always stayed because a match like this can get tight again very quickly on the carpet. "When asked about the importance of the title, he replied :" It's always nice to play in Germany and of course to win there too. It was a great week , everything was well organized and I played very good tennis ”.
