Jurij Rodionov, who has been in brilliant shape in Switzerland at Challenger level so far, got off to a flying start against Yuichi Sugita: after just seven minutes, the Austrian was ahead with a break and 3-0. After a little over half an hour, Rodionov had the first set in his pocket.

Rodionov was also extremely dominant in the second round. The Austrian made the break early on, then played himself into a real frenzy and finally fixed the clear 6: 3 and 6: 0 success.

In the quarter-finals, Jurij Rodionov now meets the German Cedrik-Marcel Stebe, who was able to defeat Kacper Zuk and Mirza Basic in the course of the tournament so far.
