ATP Challenger Marbella: Philipp Kohlschreiber wins a tough fight, Stan Wawrinka out in doubles
Philipp Kohlschreiber reached the quarterfinals at the ATP Challenger event in Marbella after a hard fight. Stan Wawrinka also failed in doubles on Thursday.

Local hero Carlos Taberner and Philipp Kohlschreiber fought each other for almost exactly two hours and 15 minutes at the ATP Challenger event in Marbella before the German was supposed to win his quarter-final ticket 4: 6, 6: 3 and 6: 4.
The German showed a highly concentrated performance over long stretches and was finally able to safely transport an early break to win the match in the third decisive set. The 38-year-old is now waiting for Pedro Cachin in the quarter-finals. The Argentine had surprisingly defeated returnee Dominic Thiem in round one.
For the second comeback man, Stan Wawrinka, the first event after an injury break of more than a year has also come to an end in pairs. At the side of Pablo Andujar, the three-time Grand Slam winner failed because of the top seeded Qureshi/Nedovyesov.
