For German-speaking tennis fans, it could have been quite confusing this Monday at the ATP Challenger event in Prague, as eight Austrians and Germans were in action in their first round matches or qualifying matches. The record after sixteen sets played: twice red-white-red, twice black-red-gold with success.

Lucas Miedler got things started early, and in the only direct Austro-German duel, he didn't give Sebastian Fanselow a chance in the final qualifying round. Miedler meets a German again in the main draw: Tobias Kamke. The Spaniard Alejandro Moro Canas also qualified successfully, the Spaniard inflicted a surprising defeat on Matthias Bachinger with 4:6 and 3:6.

Sebastian Ofner, Mats Moraing and Jurij Rodionov were already successful in the main draw. The former, who only returned to the ATP Challenger Tour a few weeks ago after a long injury break, clearly defeated the Frenchman Constant Lestienne in two sets. Mats Moraing, on the other hand, won the all-German duel against Maximilian Marterer. And Yuri Rodionov? The defeated old master Robin Haase in two sets.
