No sense of achievement for the Austrian players on Friday in Salzburg-Anif: Dominic Thiem initially lost the continuation of his match against Facundo Bagnis 3: 6, 6: 2 and 4: 6. Then Lukas Neumayer lost to Corentin Moutet 2: 6 and 2: 6. So all hopes for a local hero in the semifinals rested on Maximilian Neuchrist, who had to fight against Thiem conqueror Bagnis.

And as in the previous round, Neuchrist gave everything he had against Roberto Carballes Baena - but lost out against Bagnis in his second game of the day. The Argentine won 6-2, 6-7 (4) and 6-2 and will now face either Dusan Lajovic or Thiago Monteiro in the semifinals.

In doubles, however, Lucas Miedler and Alexander Erler can hope for the title. Last year's Kitzbühel champions won against Martin Cuevas and Luis David Martinez 6:3 and 7:6 (3). The opponents of the two have not yet been determined.
