After the opening success over compatriot Lucas Miedler (6: 2, 3: 6 and 6: 1), the 20-year-old took Jordan Thompson, the top seeded player, out of the tournament in round two.

Against the world number 82. Misolic had to fight for three hours and six minutes before the hard-fought 6: 7 (5), 7: 6 (7) and 6: 1 success was sealed.
